I have been playing around with a blog post for about 2 weeks now and it’s about time I just did it. It has been far too long since I have and I really do need to make a habit of posting at least once and week even if it’s just an update on how much I am not getting done.
Firstly 6th Ed 40k has been out for a while now and I am with some luck picking up my Dark Vengeance box set in 12 days at MOAB 2012 from the Combat Company. The funniest thing about that is my 4 year old took one look at the pictures of what’s in the new starters box set and looking at the Chaos cultist said “Dad I want them for my Necromunda gang”. Now as a dad and a gamer I beamed with joy that my son is thinking ahead but there is part of me which goes damn I wanted them.. lol..
I am also picking up a Blood Angel Codex, Blood Angel Battle Force and a box of Sanguinary Guard to create a 1250 point force for my 4 year old (that’s my excuse anyway). I already had the Terminators and the Furioso Dreadnought that I want to use. I converted up a AoBR Captain as well for this one to see how it would look.
1240 Points Blood Angels
Captain - 130
* Plasma Pistol & Power Sword
Terminator Squad (5) - 320
* Cyclone Missile Launcher
* 1x Chain fist
Sanguinary Priest w Terminator Armour
Assault Squad (5) - 140
*Flamer
Sergeant
* Combat Shield & Hand Flamer & Power Weapon
Assault Squad (5) - 240
*Plasma Pistol
Sergeant
* Combat Shield & Plasma Pistol & Power Weapon
Sanguinary Priest w Jump Pack
* Plasma Pistol
Tactical Squad (10) - 270
*Plasma gun
*Heavy Plasma
Sergeant
* 2x Plasma Pistols
Sanguinary Priest
* Combi
Furioso Dreadnought - 140
*Blood Talons
*Magna Grapple
I have been debating with myself over the 3 Sanguinary Priests at their cost and the change to Feel No Pain in 6th Ed. Also not having my own copy of the new rules I might make some changes yet after I read through the rules but I think at least this should be fun to play. I will post up some pictures on my workshop blog as I start creating this army.
Other than that until next time.

1850 CMS Complete
The realisation that it has been far to long since I have posted up on this blog as I had started again on the workshop one. I have completed my 1850 point Chaos Space Marine force with just over 500 point in side board which took me 10 months of the Independent Characters hobby challenge.
I think my two Plague Marine squads where the most fun to paint along with the Plague Dreadnaught.
My Winged Lord and his raptors where are try in Green stuff converting and although not the best job it was good for my first try.
Will post more soon.

I am under way in the new squad with are 7 Plague marines with 2 plasmaguns. and I will post there pics up when I am done.

IC Hobby Challenge
Well when your hobby time evaporates into being non existent join a hobby challenge I say. The Independent Characters podcast are running a hobby challenge starting this month June of 2011 and finishing in March of 2012. I have to create a 1850 point army list in my case of Chaos Space Marines and from scratch construct and paint the army with 400 point plus of a side board of mini's to swap in and out or even make the army too 2250 plus.
I had entered my army list and monthly goals but after listening to the last Imperial Vox Cast podcast on army building I am spending some time re-working my list and changing my thinking on army building.
Let's see how I go!

Venting
We are past over half way through the month of March and it feels like a life time since not only I have not touched any really hobby stuff for two months. It’s going to be at least another 2 or 3 weeks before I hope I will have a few days to use my bits box to build a space marine sergeant and paint him up in I have no idea at this point chapter colours.
When did hobby time become so hard?
I knew that starting study this year would affect my hobby time but I have found in the last month even my distance study has suffered with my hobby time to work, sickness and traveling to see family.
I have five 40k book to read, Grey Knights coming out next month and I am really missing the painting. I have been surviving on playing one mission a day from the Dawn of War 2 campaigns for about 30minutes before I start work.
I wanted to have finish some assault crimson fist by now, I wanted to have worked on my Chaos Space Marine War band as well. Now I have Grey Knights coming and I just feel like screaming..
Who said having a hobby was relaxing!

2011 is upon us
As a new year has started and new years resolutions are made I find that looking into the year ahead and my hobby time it is going to die. I am hoping that they don’t come to a complete stop and I have plans to make a few tweaks to my Crimsons Fist Tournament army but adding some scouts and a few Assaults Marines. My Chaos Space Marines will be going on hold and with the up coming release of Grey Knights in April in October I may see about buy some of there new plastics to make a very elite army over my summer break in studying that is going to take up so much of my time.
Lets see how I go this year!

Christmas Break
Just over a week of time where there is no work just family time and I am hoping a far amount of hobby time. Now all I have to do is decide what I want to do and thinking on it I have a few choices for the week.
1. Building Scenery – I have already gotten some MDF and cut it into 12 inch squares as well as collected a fair amount bits and piece of interesting bottle, cans etc. I have also a big box of 10 imperial ruins that I can use as well.
2. Space Hulk – I haven’t done much with Space Hulk since I bought the latest version but I need to trim, clean up the figures and paint them up. I want to do each Terminator individually as there would be some variations with the sacred armour.
3. Kill Team – I have been working in a sporadic fashion on my own chapter and I would like to build and paint up at least a Sternguard Sergeant and possibility his team as a kill team for Killzone.
4. Chaos Space Marines – I have completed about 70 to 75% of my Slannesh Chaos Lord and about 20% of a 10 man CSM squad with Slannesh Icon. I really do need to work on the bases for them as I haven’t been about to decide what colours to make them. And I need to go over the plans I have for them and what I currently have without buying anything new.
So many choices and all of it I would love to do.
Well Merry Christmas to all and let’s see how I go!
